One of you Quad Cam Bastards got a line or hook up on what i need to mount these calipers?? I need a piston & o-rings for one and all the hardware, plates & pads for both ( right & left side )....if i knew what to look up i would, & i don't have a manual haha

I HATE math.....

Spent 4 hours last night getting the rear wheel, fender centered up to make spacers and bungs to get it locked down....i was afraid the sprocket might be a tad too offset but i think it's gonna work out.

Came up with a better strut idea also....the left one always has lined up


But the right one never did.... & it's stupid. Drove me nutty thinking all the weight was out there on the end of the shock stud so i came up with an idea that is going to eliminate them all together


And hopefully slim up the rear a bit also...Stay tuned.....

Funny story.....

Sooo I've been knee deep in stripping & re-finishing kitchen cabinets all weekend, (except for Friday night i worked on the Dyna seat a little but I'll get into that later...) So i get a call from my boy Brent Saturday evening, who hopefully is gonna make the Born Free trip with me, & He says, "hey i got a Shovelhead problem over here at a gas station..I'm pretty sure the voltage regulator is fucking up & the battery is over charging...do you have an extra one or know anybody who has ? The guy is just passing through town." I said, well i have mine I'll gladly let him have to get him back on his way if he can wait 20-30 min for me to run to the shop and grab it? Not a problem he says.....so i get there & i can't quit shaking the guys hand cause he looks soooo familiar....? Then i said oh shit! we were drunk laying in the dirt together on drunk on some shitty whiskey on the Lone Star river run talking about Texas country & where some good venues were & you kept calling this guy "Smooch"! he just looked at me and says........That's because his name really is Smooch....HAHAHAHA Small world glad to help a guy out! I had no idea who or what i was going to approach at that gas station, If you have the time or part or what ever....at least stop & see if the guy who's broke down is OK or just needs a smoke......Jesse, i hope you made it back to Bryan College Station all right my friend..& come back through town anytime!! HOLLA!!

Good shop tunes for your weekend of choppin! It'll jump start your morning that's for sure....Never heard of these guy's till a couple of day's ago....I can't quit listening to this album now. It's pretty Wide Fuckin Open rock & roll with melodic sing along chorus's that makes me happy! Plus I love singers who can sing that aggressive all through an album....better yet can pull it off live. Very well produced, get the deluxe album with the 3 live tracks at the end.

I love music & playing my git-fiddle as much as the next guy.....

AND....if you should happen to find yourself wanting to take the clear coat off of your stock legs to polish'em up real pretty like you should use this shit....My 3rd set to do & this works bad ass. Just leave it on 10 minutes or so & it starts popping & crackling the clear coat, Get your shop air & just blow the shit off. Painless & super sexy. But it stings the hell out of your skin if it lands on you haha

On another note...I picked up these dual disk lowers up for the Shovel. This bike never had rear brakes so I'm just not into doing the no front brake thing. Just ain't my deal...I like performance. And as stupid as i ride most of the time it's just a damn good idea to have not one...but TWO fronts hahaha.

What a relief to finally drop the motor in! I forgot about everything in life that's been bothering me after that! I still am. Not a damn thing matters now but to stay steady on finishing. Fuck work, Fuck money, Fuck the asshole who let my dogs out ( that's a weird ass feeling getting home from the bar drunk & your dogs are running all over the neighbor hood, Gate's pushed in the WRONG way & a cop comes slow rolling hitting you with spot lights!) , Fuck IT! Troubles pulling on my nut sack. He's pissed off for being down so long & so am I. I had this weird trip back to when i first tore this thing apart the first time i got it.







GOT to figure this shit out. I'm over it, It's time to roll. gotta do what i was gonna do in the first place, Flat fender, put the struts back on, re-work this old sissy to make it all fit nice....& be done.


Still got all the little shit to do & figure out, gonna just work with what i got, gotta make my 2 existing coils work in the stock location, get tranny lined up, get rear wheel lined up & figure what spacers i need to make blah blah stay tuned........

oh & make controls (First idea didn't quite work out so back to drawing board) & pipes. Still a ways to got but... feel good about it

Fuck Yes!

Happy New Years too ME! Let's get to work! Showed up yesterday afternoon, went & picked it up soon as i could! Great way to start off the First day of the year, hung over as hell but I'm ready to bust a nut now! Just need to clean my carb up, order some new oil fittings, a Dyna Twin fire coil & a new pulley and slap it in then I'll get to work on the mid-controls....

2 DAYS LEFT.....

I'm ready to get this old fucker out the door & bring in some new eyes & ideas for a fresh start in the new year! I'll have a vehicle in a couple of day's (hopefully) so I'll be able to get back out to the shop when i want & need to. It's just too unproductive for me to go another winter with just having a bike for transportation...and it makes wanting to get out on the road for any length of trip less motivating when your on it 24/7. My shovel is finally paid for so I'm expecting it pretty soon. What i nightmare that was. A 30 day turnaround turned into a 6 month fucking & empty pocket's hahaha! Could have just ordered up a new crate motor...but after all was said & done was still able to salvage the original cases..Whoo hoo (insert sarcasm). So...What's in store for this new year? Have no idea. I caught myself looking at a map and events and a calender marking down what I wanted to do & then reality set in reminding me that I'm not that guy. I have a feeling it's a head West kinda year... But making plans & dedicating my self to something is just a stress fuck downward spiral into a dark hole of a frenzy for me. I can't be tied to shit for some reason.... Never have been able to over come that. It's hard to live with I'm sure for the people around me but I hope by now their use to it! I'll decide at the last minute more than likely what I do or accomplish. I don't exactly like it all the time either but that's what makes us unique as individuals. I don't won't this swing arm anymore...I do know that. But I can't seem to give it away either..., so ill drop the motor back in it, make some controls, pipes, plumb it, wire it and make some wheel spacers and be done with it. Ill hard tail it later the good old fashion way. Met some new friends this year who I feel will be around for the long haul & I hope to meet some more out on the road for 2011! Other then that I'm gonna do what I do best & play it all by ear one day at a time & hope to enjoy it! Maybe it'll go a little slower this time..2010 went by faster then any year I've been through & it scared the Hell outta me hahaha. We gotta show to prepare for Friday night so I'll catch you fuckers when the new year hangover's in full effect! So until then i raise my glass to all you THROTTLENECKS out there who may happen upon this shitty blog....May your oil never lose it's viscosity!!
